Either excellent or okay, depending on where you stand

Phil Collins has no doubt become one of the most popular artists of the 80's and early 90's and, while the idea was laughable then, Collins now has his own "Greatest Hits" album, simply titled ...HITS. Phil Collins fans won't be disappointed, but others may be just slightly unpleased with this CD, consisting of:
1. "Another Day in Paradise" - One of my three favorite Phil Collins songs, and just has a nice feeling to it. The beat is good and the sound of the song is simply put, wonderful.
2. "True Colors" - An adaption of Cyndi Lauper's popular song. Good song, but it can't match with it's original version. Collins has a good vocal, though.
3. "Easy Lover" - Another one of my favorite Collins songs, rollin' beat and great vocal. You'll listen to it again and again.
4. "You Can't Hurry Love" - Adaption of the popular oldie. Really good, actually, bringing Diana Ross' love song into the 80's.
5. "Two Hearts" - Is okay, but has a sort of naiive feeling to it; also a little too mushy for my taste, but...
6. "I Wish It Would Rain Down" - Another okay love song. Nice guitar and steady beat.
7. "Against All Odds" - Theme song for the film of the same name. Good love song with a feeling of redemption surrounding it.
8. "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven" - Gets off to a good start and then goes down. Nice percussion line.
9. "Seperate Lives" - Way too mushy for me, a slow-moving love song by Collins.
10. "Both Sides of the Story" - Good percussion! Other than that it's just a good Collins song, nothing special.
11. "One More Night" - Steady-going love song is just above average Collins.
12. "Sussudio" - Good Collins song with a hip beat, but it sounds like something out of a beach movie...hmmm...
13. "Dance Into the Light" - Another good Collins, another sound from a beach movie. Must've just got back from the MIAMI VICE set.
14. "A Groovy Kind of Love" - One of the final two of my favorite Phil Collins songs. Another adaption, but a darn good one at that. Good orchestral sound and Collins vocal is terrific.
15. "In the Air Tonight" - Possibly my favorite Collins song, and arguably his best. Featured in the MIAMI VICE TV show...angry/lovesick vocal by Collins is top-notch.
16. "Take Me Home" - Depends on whether you like this type of song or not. Not on my favorites list, though. Backing vocals by Peter Gabriel and Sting!

Phil Collins' ...HITS is either excellent or okay, depending on where you stand, but true Collins fans won't be disappointed.

You need an endless night to dislike "One more night."

This is a great compilation of Phil Collins songs. I love it. I miss "Do You Remember" song though.
