Fear not, the Lion's share of Phil's hit singles were gathered up, And it's wonderful for the financially impaired to hear "Take me home", "In the air tonight", and "Another day in Paradise" at the press of a button.
However in the quest to pack Phil's 17-Year (at the time) career onto an 80-Minute Disc, it was skimmed of a few well known hits: "I Missed again", "Do you remember" and "Billy Don't lose my number". Which for me is a tremendous drawback, considering the latter is one of my favorite Songs of all time. And if the casual fan wants the studio versions of these tunes, they'll have to track down the actual albums. Which I'd encourage, but "Hits" is probably aimed towards the budget minded casual fan.
A minor qualm I have is the tracks aren't arranged in order of their release, "In the Air tonight" off his 1981 "Face Value" album should've been the definitive opener.
For it's shortcomings I deduct a star, but still "Hits" is a great retrospective and is a worthy addition to your collection.
Casual fans will be more than content with "Hits". It won't disappoint.
