A respectable but definitely not conclusive gathering of Collins' best hit successes. Because of the fact Collins has completed multiple solo projects over the past two decades, this one disc anthology does not adequately provide ample housing for all his song criteria. Maybe the flip of a coin, but commercial heads probably triumphed. In any event, nice to know good intentions were there. One CD in particular I recommend buying is No Jacket Required; probably Collins' best wrought studio album to date. With it, you'll be sure not to miss the prominent hit songs `Inside Out`, `Don't Lose My Number`, `Only You Know And I Know` and `Long Long Way To Go` - all ignored on this present compilation effort. The tracks `I Don't Wanna Know`, `Who Said I Would` and `We Said Hello, Goodbye` are all of great musical status originality as well.

Hits nevertheless, like I previously gave indication to, has at least half of Collins' most appreciated studio singles. All became very popular whether making Billboard's Top Ten or not. In the meantime, No Jacket Required would again be the `Hit-Philled` CD I highly recommend owning apart from Hits. One I guess will have to wait till this former talented Genesis drumming man puts out Hits Vol. 2 for a complete hit listing. I'm optimistic further big hits such the like as `I Missed Again`, `I Don't Care Anymore`, `Like China`, `You'll Be In My Heart`, `Everyday`, `I Cannot Believe It's True` and `Do You Remember?` are additional tracks which should find also their way(s) onto this hopefully prompt counterpart. Three stars may not seem adequate for this retrospective attempt, but when including 3 others in a follow-up, the Orion Nebula should appear no brighter than tiny sparkles to any Woodstock dream believer...
