Pink Floyd was an unique and extraordinary band. I have heard only a few Pink Floyd albums but I believe in that this best of collection includes most of their classic songs. There are early classics such as Bike, See Emily Play and Judgand Blues. From year 1967 to 1968 Syd Barrett made most of Piper at the Gates at the Dawn songs and a few other songs but his style was a very playful and personal psycedelic rock. My favourite Barrett's song is See Emily Play which is very funny, happy and interesting track. Barrett was a very important person at the beginning of Pink Floyd's career. Shine On You Cracy Diamond and Wish You Were Here are dedicated to him. Specially, Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a very good farewall song to Barrett. Lyrics and Melodies are perfectly put together. The Most important song before the Dark Side of the Moon tracks is an epic Echoes which is unfortunately shorted version. Despite of that Echoes works well and it contains many feelings such as fear and lust. Money and Time are must songs and absolutely Pink Floyd's classics. Time is timeless song! From the Wall has taken four songs Happiest Day of Our Lives, Another Brick On the Wall Pt.2, Hey You and Comfortably Numb. Run Like is sadly dropper out. Hey You is very a strong song and like it a lot. Confortably Numb has a beautiful chorus part and a great quitar solo. After the Wall you can find some interesting such as High Hopes(Division Bell) and Flecher's Memorial Home ( The Final Cut ) Why I don't give five stars for this collection. I will tell three reason:
1. There are some songs that I don't like ( When Tigers Broke Free, Keep Talking)
2. Some tracks put stupidly one after another such as Sheep and Sorrow
3. Some classics are missing( for exemple Run Like Hell)
I would give this collection 4½ stars if it was possibly.
Finally, Buy this collection if you want to start an interesting journey to strange world of Pink Floyd
