Well, I belive most of you have at one time or another been to an art museum...any of you ever stopped in front of a brilliant masterpiece and could not take your eyes of something so beautiful???? That's how I would like to describe this wonderful compilation, a masterpice that you will never want to take your eyes of(sorry, ears...).
Of course for old time pink floyd fans this would not be an ideal buy...you should have all these songs already...but even so you would have to agree that this certanly is a great compilation...If you out there, lost in the world, doesn't know the not only greatest band of all time, but the most creative of all, this absolutely is the thing that will get you started in loving this band... it worked for me, I only knew "another brick in the wall Part.II" and had no idea who really pink floyd were...well, this cd opened-up my mind, and now I know all their songs....
My favorite pieces are,(hard to choose they are all great!!!!):
CD 1 -- "Echoes"(16+ minutes track, which is wonderfully arranged and put together, it shows WRIGHT'S crazyness on instrumental parts that the keyboards rule, and GILMOUR'S excellent ability to play guitar...and of course one of the best bass players of all time...WATERS...
"Money", the eternal song that will blow your mind and make you look back at a lot of things...Be aware o the killer sax solo, and oustanding vocal, and again beautiful bass playing...
"Sheep", many will say that THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON is the best cd, but in my opinion it only loses to ANIMALS it's best song is here, who likes screetching guitar will certanly love this song...
CD 2 -- "shine on, you crazy diamond", my favorite pink song, it really show how these guys were really crazy, written in memory of the great(and also crazy) Sid Barrett...Outstanding guitar solo, and the also outstanding keyboards....
"one of these days", if you like bass as I do, this is your song, an instrumental piece or shoul I say, masterpiece....
"Learning To Fly", some will punish me for saying that this song could be rated better than "wish you were here","time"(of course they are allllll terrific songs) because "learning to fly" does not feature WATERS on the band anymore...like all bands this one too had to change something...But this song still remains one of the best all time pink songs...keyboards here is the best, and needless to say GILMOUR'S mesmerrizing guitar...
Well I hope I could encourage a lot of pleople to listen to the GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME -----PINK FLOYD-------Ç~Ç~Ç
