Regardless of what Pink Floyd was (or will be??) this is an enjoybale album. I do not put his CD in when I'm in the mood for "Pink Floyd", that is the time for DSOTM, Meddle, Animals, WYWH, even Final Cut. DB gets put in when I'm in that Enya, Van Morrison type mood. This is technically produced epic-style mellow album. No awe-inspiring lyrics, but no cheese either. But what do you expect? Just like most 60's and 70's era band, some the "soul" is lost with old age. Some give up, some continue. Not sure, but I'd assume the band was secondary (or thirdary) at that point in Gilmour, Wright and Mason's life(maybe almost hobbie-like?). Who can blame them after 4 decades of some of the greatest music ever and the rock-n-roll lifestyle they lived? It'd be nice if they put their lives on hold and throw out all the new technology & session players and dust off the Hammond, tube amps ,fenders, piano, and get some those 60's era synth-noise-making thing-a-ma-jigs and jam in a locked studio for a year and write songs. But they'd probably say "No Thanks, been there, done that". No Floyd magic here, but a nice album nonetheless.....
