A Great Debut - A Great Band

Losing Syd Barrett was the worst thing to ever happen to Pink Floyd. This album is perfection - psychadelic rock at its best! The first day I had this album, I listened to it 5 times in a row! The best songs are: Astonomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, PowRTocH, Interstellar Overdrive, and Bike (but they're all good). This album came out way before Pink Floyd's Wall or DSOTM days and it sounds like a totally different band - maybe a better band. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this album. Barrett and Water's vocals sound great on this album and Syd's guitar is excellent, especially on Interstellar Overdrive. Beyond this album, I recommend any Pink Floyd studio recordings up to The Wall except for maybe the soundtracks (More and Obscured By Clouds). And if you like Syd Barrett, he has three great non-compilation albums (Madcap Laughs, Barret, Opel) and an excellent greatest hits album (Wouldn't You Miss Me).
