This album is unlike any other album ever created.
Although this LP does nothing to foreshadow what Pink Floyd would do in the '70s, it is a wonderfully catchy psychedelic pop romp through the acid-washed psyche of Syd Barrett. 3-minute pop gems fill this album, each with delightfully fun lyrics and experimental sounds. 'Piper' is perhaps the most psychedelic album ever created and out trips anything the Jefferson Airplane could ever do. I mean, nothing is more trippy than fantastic space travel, and Syd and the boys take us there, song by song. The only drawback to this record is that people familiar with Pink Floyd from the radio may be turned off by it's pop flavor. Nevertheless, it is essential for any true fan
