I bought this CD probably a year or so ago, and I figured that it would be interesting to hear a Pink Floyd album with Syd Barret as the lead guitar/vocals, instead of Gilmour. However, outside of a few choice songs, I was fairly unimpressed with it. Astronomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, Chapter 24, Scarecrow, and Bike were among my favorite on the album, and as for the others, they failed to impress. Interstellar Overdrive, I believe that it is overrated due to the fact I have seen it heralded as one of the best psychedelic songs ever.

As for the songs on the album that I personally liked, they could be found on most of the compilations that Pink Floyd have put out over the years, such as Echoes or even one of their live albums, like P.U.L.S.E. Overall, its a wash, I would recommend it only for nostalgic value or for someone who is truly into the very earliest Pink Floyd or the psychedelic feel of The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn as a whole. If it were my money, I'd opt for The Wall, Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, or Meddle, personally.
