I remember the day I went out and made my first Pink Floyd purchase. I was a freshman in high school and the album was "Dark Side of The Moon". The album was very intriguing to me, although it seemed a little over my head since I was so inexperienced in the world of progressive/art/psychedelic rock; but that love was soon to be found. I went out and bought "Wish You Were Here" shortly after on a recommendation from my Dad. This is when my obsession with Pink Floyd set in.

The epic 14 minute first track "Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 1-5" blew me away. "Welcome To The Machine" and "Have a Cigar" were equally awesome. Then we have the song "Wish You Were Here", probably my favorite tune on the album. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 6-9" closes out the album quite nicely. There is not a dud, not even a weak track on the whole disc. The album would seem incomplete if any were missing. This album will will put you in a trance and make you love Pink Floyd.

Oh yes, this album turned me into a zombie. All I listened to was Pink Floyd for what seemed like a year as I collected their entire discography. If you want to get into Pink Floyd, get "Wish You Were Here" first. Listening to this one first will gently show you how utterly captivating the other Floyd albums can be.
