Outlandos D'amour

Punks ... or Are They?

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (8/10)
The Police rode into music history on the punk tide of the late Seventies. But it soon became clear that their music had broader influences than those of, say, the Sex Pistols. The reggae-inspired ode to a street prostitute entitled "Roxanne" is the signature cut here, but Outlandos D'Amour contains many other great tracks. "Can't Standing Losing You" displays Sting's ability to construct a snappy pop tune; while "So Lonely" would become one of the band's greatest concert songs.
