My favorite Police CD

This, to me, is the best Police album out there. It barely edges out Synchronicity, but it does beat it out. The reason I like it so much is its nice blend of songs. Some fast and furious (Message in a Bottle, title track, No Time This Time), some slower and more haunting (Bring on the Night, Bed's Too Big Without You, Does Everyone Stare), and even a couple of funny/clever tunes (Walking on the Moon, On Any Other Day) to remind you that these guys knew how to enjoy themselves, too.

The music has a kind of a melodic punk flavor, but is really good. Sting's bass play is pulsating, Andy Summers understated guitar work flashes in and around the beat, and Stewart Copeland drives it all forward with his outstanding percussion. The lyrics initially strike you as simple (maybe even repetitive), but they have a thoughtful and thought-provoking element to them.

Simply put...I love this CD.
