'Stingchronicty' The Police at their best

As the Beatles Sgt Pepper album was the 60's most important recording, the 80's choice has to be Synchronicity by The Police.Both records are timeless. Synchronicty still sounds fresh today and the lyrics have a universal appeal: from mankinds impending doom to lost love, stalking, Mother/son work & family problems, Lochness monster,Jung. The title tracks I & II have the power to shake the room 17 years on and Synchronicty I, with its deafening crashing percussion: Copelands best ever performance(along with Regatta de Blanc) and the most amazing opening track to any album I can remember. This is very dark rock album, but, depending on the listeners mood, I sometimes listen to the music/sound of this album as the lyrics can be depressing at times. Check out a Beatles riff on 'Oh my God', it could be from 'Daytripper'. I think the Police knew this would be the final album, and thats why 17 years on it is a classic. They saved their best to last, a mature thoughtful album, every home should have one copy!
