RELIENT K MAKES A RIGHT
Review Score:

(10/10)
It's hard to think of another band that encompasses more witt, brilliant song writing, or emotional ballads than that of Relient K. While these guys may exhibit themselves to the world as big goof-offs, their music is certainly the place where all bets are off. While Relient K does not make a departure from their mix of punk, pop, christianity and "tongue in cheek" humor, this album is certainly more accessible for the pop-rock fanbase at large.
The best song on this album is hard to pin down, but the ambigious "Jefferson Aeroplane" is brilliant. With a catchy, 60's infused, sound it's lyrics hit home, wherever that is. Other songs are created for a good laugh, a positive side of music not seen to often these days. Songs such as "Mood Rings" and "Gibberish" are sure-fire crowd-pleasers, as well as madly catchy and brilliant in its form. The goal of this album seems to be to record songs about aspects of life not really covered in music, such as the blunt "College Kids", which cries out "Not for me, not for me...call it torture call it University", a sentiment I and other college students can understand whole-heartedly. And while the band is more accessible, they do not ditch their Christian roots. Songs such as "Getting Into You" and "i am understood?" are true testaments to that, showing they still know how to help their listeners connect with god.
This album all around exposes true talent of a band I'm sure we're to see only more great music from, maybe in a brighter spotlight than previously given. With the recent main-stream success of Switchfoot (another christian band), there may be hope for a creative mind yet.
