Some seriously cool music

Rhapsody! There's no doubt these guys can play. Everything form the chugging bass, to the melodious leads and the thunderous drumming. And not just traditional metal elements, but the well placed classical instruments (not just strings, but flutes, tubas, and who knows what else) add to one hell of a release.

Ahhh, but now you ask why only 4 stars? Let's see, it's technically, melodious, and- oh wait...

The lyrics are so over-the-top, slay the dragon, rescue the maiden, it's awfully ridiculous. Come on, admit it, Rhapsody's lyrics may weave an interesting storyline, but there's nothing here that really makes ya think is there? It's all very surface. I'd recommend Dark Tranquillity, Dimmu Borgir or Opeth for some seriously poetic lyrics. Other than that though, this album is great!
