(10/10)At one time it was rumoured that Robert Palmer wanted to be the new Thin White Duke, a reference to David Bowie. This is the closest he came, to my mind, of developing a musical sound that could be that dynamic, fresh and at the same time referential as David Bowie of the "Station to Station" through the "Let's Dance" period. Robert was really onto something here, but by the time he hit with "Addicted to Love" and "Simply Irresistable", this kind of musical experimentation was gone. Too bad.
