A Farewell To Kings

What is So Special About This Album?

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
BECAUSE YOU HAD TO BE A YOUNG PERSON IN 1977 TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT THIS ALBUM HAD! A friend allowed me to borrow Rush in Rio and I was amazed at all the children in the audience. A Farewwell to Kings is truly Rush's best (or maybe Hemispheres...or maybe Permanent Waves....pick one). When this album came out, everybody bought it. Everybody loved it and all the people I hang out with from my generation ( 40+ - 50+) still play it, although many have not made the switch to CD as I recently have. I miss these guys. I wish they would stop trying to sound like all the modern junk out there today and get back to their roots. A Farewell to Kings...if you are a musician as I am, you can not help but love it (and play it). Ranks up there with Wish You Were Here, Zeppelin I, and the Doors' debut as one of the most influentual rock albums in history.
