A Farewell To Kings

I am a huge fan of Rush. I enjoy every single one of their musical eras, but the one that that this album was made in is my favorite. With A Farewell To Kings and Hemispheres, Rush made their most complex and progressive music in their whole career. After 2112, Rush released this album showing that they'd matured in a year.....a lot. This album contains some of their most complex arrangements which is saying a lot for Rush. Every song on here rates from good to excellent, my favorite being the 11 minute Xanadu. This album also contains Rush's first "hit" Closer To the Heart. The rest is brilliant as well including the chaotic Cygnus X-1. If you're new to Rush, I'd say start off with Moving Pictures or Permanent Waves, but this is an essential recording and truly one of Rush's best.
