A Farewell To Kings

The Greatest ArtRock/Progressive Album of All Time

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
The only albums that give this masterpiece a run for its money are Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" and Yes' "Close to the Edge"...and both of these are far seconds. From the first strum of Alex Lifeson's guitar in the title track to the thunderous climax of, in my humble opinion, the single greatest song ever recorded, Cygnus X-1, one cannot get enough of this intensely intricate, yet fiercely melodic band. Neil Peart became fully developed as the best drummer of all time on this CD, and also shines in the lyrics department (see Madrigal). During the 70's, there was no better partnership than among these three talented musicians...buy this CD, it's essential to any collection.
