If I was trapped on a desert island and could only take three albums this would be one of them. This album has so many great aspects to it, it's impossible to write about them all. There are a few personal highlights including

- Kaiowas, a acoustic 'tribal' jam. How many Brazillian people or bands have focused indigenous issues (see Biotech is Godzilla)or used them as inspiration in Brazillian music? This got a little cheesy with the whole Sepultribe thing this is makes the album a little different, and I'd argue special, compared with most metal albums.

- Biotech is Godzilla co-written w/ Jello Biafra. A full on attack of the pharmasutcial industry and its exploitative nature. Well the title says it all

- Manifest (sic). This documents the violent exercises of the Brazillian police in the Caranderu prison massacre in Sao Paulo state; there's a photo to boot which isn't plesant. This is also addressed in the above tune.

To top it off there's the unbelievable bass playing (Paulo Jr)and the brazillian informed drumming which is simply brilliant (Igor Cavalera). This album has it all. It's a politically motivated, undeniably cohesive, agressive metal fest. Sepultura brought this type of metal to a wider audience, including me. This is their crowning moment and one the greatest heavy metal albums ever.
