A more mature sound for SEPULTURA

With the release of CAOS A.D., SEPULTURA has hit a peak and a maturity in their sound. Yes the music is still fast heavy and hard, but the sounds and riffs just seem to get better with each release up until Max left the band. Yes ARISE is a freakin killer album, but CAOS is better in my opinion. The riffs are killer, Igor's drumming is just unbeliveable and there is still Max's trademark growls and snarls. The lyrics are still angry and have a meaning to them. REFUSE/RESIST, TERRITORY, and SLAVE NO WORLD kick the album off and these songs will have you thrasing and banging your head in no time at all. We also get to see some elements of the tribal influences on this album with some of the rhythms. One track that is a real welcome surprise is KAIOWAS, which really has that tribal sound to it and just might be the sleeper hit of the album. For those who think that SEPULTRUA has sold out or got soft, I beg to differ. They obviously grew up as musicians and experimented with their sound. This album still rocks, but it is more mature sound that only indicated where the band was heading as witnessed on their next classic album ROOTS. I highly recommend this for all music fans. It is way better than anything out right now, 10 years after it was released. One more thing, dont forget to give AMEN, and PROPAGANDA a listen, those songs rock hard. METAL RULES
