Sepultura

Chaos A.D.

Good but just not what Sep was.

Well, I have some good and some bad opinions about Chaos AD. Starting with the bad, Sepultura got a lot slower on this album. I'm sorry, but this is not thrash. If Sepultura sold out during the past 15 years or so, this is where it happened. On another note, there's some cool tracks on this album. It's not what I would have expected from my favorite thrash band, but songs like Refuse/Resist, Territory, and Nomad proved that the maimed carcass of Sepultura was still kicking. While Andreas' guitar work on albums like Schitzaphrenia definatly out do the display on Chaos AD, he still puts down some nice solos. Max's voice gets a lot chunkier on this album. For the record, Sepultura did not add a new "tribal" element to this album. The unique percussion that has always been there comes from Igors irregular tom set. Anyway, this really isn't a bad album, but again, not what I expeced as the follow-up to the awesome Arise.
