Sepultura fans, and fans of tribal metal music alike, this album surpasses any album that I have ever encountered. But sadly, it is to be, most likely, a sole standing classic after the world watched in dissmay at the exit of Max Cavalera (to form Soulfly) from this awesomely powerful band.

This album opens with "Roots Bloody Roots". Where do I begin? This song has to be one of the most recognised pieces of metal music the world has seen to this day. The driving riff's provided by Anderas Kisser and the harshly dry, passioante bellowing vocals of Max, combined by a repetitve kicking bass effect make this song make you want to lose yourself in an anger that can only be created by such intensity as Sepultura.

Then there's other f**king powerful songs like "Dusted" that feel like a kick in the head, and also provide the same rythmic bass hit and driving guitar's that only Sepultura could attain. And other creative songs, produced with tribal drumming and singing such as "Ratamahatta", which is hypnotically catchy (if only it were easy to understanf though....). "Cut Throat" is also a vocal's masterpiece by Max, with him achieving levels and tones of screaming that I thought never thought possible. And all done without effects to make his voice reach that level (eg. coal chamber's vocals)

Also, this albums tribal background set this band apart from all the other metal bands. It gives the music more depth, and in tern, make the album sound more sincere to a purpose, which is to express their culture and background through this music. And its this tribal edge that Sepultura has/had that gave it such a dominance over various other metal bands. It also made Sep a band unlike no other, with little if any bands conciding the tribal aspect of music.

If only all metal could be this f**king good.....
