This is one of the best Sepultura CD's to come out after Chaos AD and Arise. The thing that I'm uncomfortable with is the fact that many people who review them label them as having a death metal sound. That's absurd and I bet Sepultura would feel the same way. Their first CD Morbid visions was sort of death metallish but only because they were new in the music scene and did not realize their own potential. Schizophrenia is different and a lot more advanced in song writing. This album plus Beneath the Remains have a Metallica/Slayr influence in them. Arise marks the band attaining their own trademark sound. Chaos AD,Roots,and Against are experimental but never the less awesome. Roots is probably their most creative album with a fresh sound, tribal rhythms, aggresion, and melody. I have listened to every Sepultura CD and I can't find one death metal sound in them except maybe Morbid Visions. As I have mentioned in my Chaos AD review, they are not death metal and can blow any death metal band away.
