This is easily the best metal album (and one of the best albums of any type) that I have heard in years. After being a huge metal fan when I was younger, I had mostly fallen away from the genre as it seemed to grow old and tired and most of my favorite bands disappeared or sold out. But when I heard that Sepultura was mixing traditional Brazilian music into their death metal, I gave in to my curiosity. Excellent choice. This album kicks more ass than a cranky muledriver. I've never heard anything else like it. It'll stir your blood, calm your soul, and make you thrash your head like you were possessed. There are, admittedly, a few repetitive moments, but these pale in comparison to the sheer virtuosity of the album as a whole. A must for anyone who craves truly original and powerful music.
