what happened?

I don't know what exactly went wrong on this album, but it falls way short of Ecliptica and Silence. The songs aren't leftover Silence tracks, they're too bad, for the most part. There's a line between musical excellence and excellent songwriting that a lot of bands cross, and fall into the pit of boring songs with super awesome and amazing musicianship. I think Sonata has done that with this album. You can have all the talent for playing in the world, but if you can't write songs, the talent is useless. Some of the least musically talented people write some of the best songs. I know Sonata has both talent for songwriting and talent for playing; I own Ecliptica and Silence, but it seems like Kakko is desperately trying to prove to everyone what an incredible keyboard player he is, and what a great voice he has. We already know!! All I want to hear is more songs like they've done in the past. Bring back the old Sonata!
