I've had a lot of new cds recently, but Trap Muzik is the best. Why? It is the one rap cd that I haven't ever gotten tired of hearing, and keeps getting better every time I hear it. It has a very "complete" feel to it, and I think this also describes T.I. as a rapper. He clearly has talent, but he often opts for subtlety over verbal theatrics. His flow is always tasteful and matches the beats and mood of his songs perfectly. As for subject matter, yeah, you have songs like "24's," and "Bezzle" (which are very good) but you also have social commentary in songs like "No More Talk" and "Doin' My Job," the creative "T.I. Vs. T.I.P." as well as a genuine love song, "Let Me Tell You Something." There's balance. What permeates all songs, however, is T.I.'s sincerity. He's got a lot of heart, and you can tell that he put some thought into this album. The downside? I don't think there is one. The world needs to stop sleeping on this.
