Heartfelt and brilliant

I got this disc not knowin' what to expect, and man was I blown away. This is a heartfelt attempt to infuse true meaning and substance into the realm of hip-hop. Kweli goes from MC'ing about 9-11, to the joy of child birth as a father, "Joy" being my favorite track because I have a little girl myself. He even has an awesome upbeat slight but not overly exploited hardcoe feel with, "Rush."

This album excells where all other hip-hop fails, and that is with true lyrics, not just rhymes about ballin, and brawlin, but true songs about life, love, joy and hardship.

The infusion of funk, soul, and even minor hardcore drum and bass brings together a masterpiece of diversity and soul.
