The Brothers Gibb Come Alive For the Second Time

This is a sequel to the 2 LP-2 CD set,HERE AT LAST which was recorded in 1976 while the Brothers Gibb promoted their CHILDREN OF THE WORLD album. This live set contains some songs that are on the first live set. They are "Jive Talkin'","Lonely Days","New York Mining Disaster 1941","You Should Be Dancing","Words","To Love Somebody" and the complete version of "Nights On Broadway". Also "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart". I would have loved to attend this concert at Las Vegas,Nevada's MGM Grand Hotel and Casino on November 14,1997. This concert lacked the Boneroo Horns,the brass band that had worked with the Bee Gees for many years. The association between the Bee Gees and the brass band might have by this time dissolved. Those are the horns heard in "You Should Be Dancing". Here,we hear the songs made famous by Barbra Streisand,Dionne Warwick,Kenny Rogers with Dolly Parton,Frankie Valli,Celine Dion and the Bee Gees' late brother Andy. They are,"Guilty","Heartbreaker","Islands In the Stream","Grease"(Barry's personally penned tune),"Immortality", and "Our Love". Except for "Guilty" and "Grease",the Bee Gees have recorded their own versions of those songs. But "Our Love" was recorded for 1979's BEE GEES GREATEST. "Our Love" is the only song in which we hear the vocals of all four Gibb Brothers(Andy's hit song with the vocals of the other three Gibbs added). This was the only US concert they did while promoting the STILL WATERS album. We hear from that album,"Alone" and "Closer Than Close". Maurice Gibb sings lead vocals in the latter. Barry's son Steven participated in this concert. Maurice introduced him to the audience in the VHS video and DVD(not heard on the CD and cassette). Olivia Newton-John even attended this concert. And probably on free admission. A must for all Bee Gees fans.
