This "in concert" recording from the Vegas show in 97 makes a great purchase for the new or casual Gibb fan. This HDCD is essentially a live greatest hits package. It offers great sound but very little of their newer material is represented, save for "Alone" and Maurice's laconic "Closer Than Close". Also somewhat annoying is the obvious use of "pre-recorded" backing vocals on some songs which undermines the purpose of a live recording. That said, some very enjoyable moments are here. The full length version of "Islands In the Stream" bests the Rogers/Parton version, a reworking of the Streisand hit Guilty works too. Barry's duet with late Brother Andy's pre-recorded track ala Nat and Natalie Cole, on "Don't Throw it All Away" is touching...the technique is repeated with Frankie Valli on Grease. And for all the time they spent trying to distance themselves from disco and "Saturday Night Fever"...all those songs are here. 78 minutes of great pop music...but the inclusion of some older rarities or new material would have made this a much more attractive set to the die hard fans out there..
