The Bee Gees

Still Waters

Mellow Gibb's

For The Bee Gees, the tide seemed to turn all over again in the 1990's. They've acclaimed a huge success overseas, but not in the U.S. for a very long time. The last time The Gibb Brothers made it in the mainstream was in 1989 with the album, One. That album scored the Gibb Brothers their last Top 10 hit in America with One, which the record was made in memory with their brother, Andy Gibb who died that year of a terrible heart virus.

The 1997 album, Still Waters still proved that The Bee Gees still have made terrific music, although they didn't seem to have it all in the mainstream, with Corporate Pop acts like The Spice Girls, and The Backstreet Boys hype, many people didn't look at them as a inspiration. Although there were a few good songs on the record like Still Waters, and the Adult Contemporary hit, Alone. Although The Gibb Brothers recieved greater success with writing for Celine Dion that Year with Immortality for her Let's Talk About Love, it wasn't delivered on the this album, which I thought could've brought even better sales with Still Waters.

Tragically, it would be one of the last albums The Bee Gees would ever record as a trio. Band Member Maurice Gibb tragically died Saturday, January 11, 2003 in Miami of intestinal blockage. He was 53 years old. Although he has passed on, The Bee Gees still have made music that has lasted the longest test of time possible, still Stayin' Alive.
