Finally a greatest hits (or best of) collection that really does the artist justice. It seems like too many recent 'greatest hits' compilations have been dishing out lame remixes, inferior live versions and 'hits' that really weren't hits. Some of them even skip the obvious hits and good album tracks altogether. No wonder people are turning to MP3s to compile their own greatest hits. That aside, this Crowes compilation is great for the casual fan and for that long drive on the road. Most, if not all of these songs should be familiar with anyone who left at least one radio button tuned to a rock station during the 90's. The collection shows the Crowes' had decent quality tunes throughout the 90's, not just one big hit and 10 sequels to that hit. If you really like this CD, the Crowes individual CDs are worth getting into (especially the first two); some are uneven, but none of them are bad. Get this CD if you like good, honest rock music that you can crank up without blushing.
