WOW, I can't believe my ears! The Black Crowes are rocking again. I thought those days were long gone after 3 Snakes and a Charm, boy did that suck. The Robinson boys are on a new label now, Columbia and have a new A&R man, John Kalodner :John Kalodner, a guru hitman. With alot to prove, these boys prove they still have the chops to rock going old school and turning in their best album since Shake Your Moneythang. Revved up Southern soul can be found on such songs like By Your Side, Heavy, Diamond Ring and HorseHead. But they do turn it up and rock out on Go Faster, Kickin' My Heart Around, Only A Fool and Virtue and Vice. I like this record alot although it does sound a little to good for the Crowes, being it sounds polished and well produced. I guess John Kalodner expects nothing less than a hit making machine. I sure don't mind.
