Works Most of the Time

This is a rarity: a combination of a great guitarist from the past with a great rock and roll band of the present. In the 20+ years since the end of Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page has (let's be honest) put out some real garbage, by himself and with others. With the Black Crowes, the tide turns. Fans of Led Zep who know every note of every Page solo will probably acknowledge that Jimmy's not what he once was, but what he still has left in him ain't too shabby. Jimmy and the Crowes crank out 2 discs worth of great rock and blues renditions. It was refreshing to hear some of the lesser known Zeppelin tunes and not an attempt to re-do "Black Dog" or "Stairway to Heaven." Though not as well known for the most part, these tunes still carry lots of punch. Rock on, Jimmy.
