Standout tunes include the soulful "Good Friday," and the zen "How Much for Your Wings." Everything that we love about the Black Crowes is apparent in these songs, but they are taken down a notch or two from the hard rocking "Southern Harmony.." For those that feel that the Crowes strayed too far from their roots on "Three Snakes...," I would like to direct them to track #7, the funkadellic "Halfway to Everywhere," or "Let Me Share the Ride," which stay very true to the stylings of "Shake Your Money Maker" and previous albums.
I give "Three Snakes.." 4 stars because it's definitely Black Crowes Lite. I suppose lite is better than fat-free, but it still doesn't taste quite the same.
