One-Dimensional

As with most Church releases, there is far too much sameness in the songs on Starfish. The Church sound interesting in small doses, but stretched across an entire album, there is not much distinction between one song and the next (or one album and the next, for that matter. Juxtapose any song from The Blurred Crusade next to any song from Starfish or Remote Luxury, for instance, and they are all interchangeable). This is not to say that all is lost: Starfish has "Reptile," "Under The Milky Way," and "Spark," which are all good songs. But the Church definitely had honed just ONE definitive sound, and they stuck with it.
