ultimate clash: improved sound, greatly improved price

(10/10)
Nine years after its original release Epic/Legacy hasrereleased a newly remastered/newly repackaged Clash "OnBroadway" 3 cd box set. Quite simply put, this is the most Clash available anywhere, anyway. More than 3 1/2 hours of playing time, 63 tracks in all, this box has it all, the singles like "Rock the Casbah" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go", early demos like "Janie Jones" and "Career Opportunities" and classic album cuts like "Police On My Back." Joe Strummer and Mick Jones at their best throughout, the package includes a wonderful booklet filled with essays and discographical data as well as full track annotations. As a bonus, the package also includes the lyrics to all the songs written by the Clash, which is virtually every track on this set, Bobby Fuller's "I Fought The Law" being an exception that comes quickly to mind. The digital remastering job makes this set rumble with the rough-edged growl that was the Clash... how the heck can you pass this one up. All the highlights are here, from the albums "Sandinista!" and "Combat Rock" "London Calling" and "The Clash." You get the idea its all here, so get it!
