A Flawless Album

That being said...I do not rank this among my top 5 U2 albums. Yes it is at points beautiful and emotional, but it lacks in rock energy. It is essentially a "safe record" meaning that it was a calculated (not artistic) endeavor. After the flop of POP, U2 needed to reconquer the commercial market. This is the result.

HOWEVER, that being done, they are now ready to rock again with the upcoming How To Dismantle and Atomic Bomb! Get ready to rock.

My favorite songs on this album are Beautiful Day, Walk On, and Peace on Earth...with elevation being a cool, fun song.

It is worth buying, though. I do believe it is essential to any music collection.
