Having never heard any of there other albums, I purchased this record purely on u2's reputation.So obviously I didn't know what to excpect.Getting to hear "beautiful day" on the radio made be realise that the album might be good.And to be honest it was.
What makes this album so good is u2's ability to grind meaningful and heart touching lyrics with melodious music to create a passionate and different sound as opposed to any rock or britpop band you'll ever hear.Tracks like beautiful day and stuck in a moment represent u2 at their best.Looking back on the album i'd say it was brilliant even though I took a chance when buying it.
I've never heard any of their previous albums but after hering this i'm sure i'll buy most of them.U2 is definitive music that has definitely reached out to me.
