U2 really got into the pop thing on All That You Can't Leave Behind with a few tracks. To me, that is sort of undesirable for U2 to do. The quality of ATYCLB depends solely on what track you are talking about. I truly hope that U2 is not getting into the pop scene permanently. Again, some tracks are bad, some tracks are okay, and some tracks are good.

"Beautiful Day" was not such a big deal, I think. It was played on the radio too much, also. But it was still a pretty good song, although overrated a bit. "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" is not appealing at all to me. "Elevation" is always a cool song, one of the best on the album. "Walk On" is okay. "Kite" is an excellent song. "In a Little While" is nothing special. "Wild Honey" is pretty good. The reason why I am being so brief is because I'm just stating the important stuff, and there isn't much else to say. "Peace on Earth" is another one of those U2 message songs that advocate, of course, peace and earth preservation. It's actually a pretty good track. "When I Look at the World" is a great song that has good Edge guitar. Actually, a lot of songs on ATYCLB have good guitar and/or solos, but if the song is bad, it doesn't make a difference. "New York" is without a doubt, THE BEST SONG ON ATYCLB. "NEW YORK" IS THE KIND OF U2 THAT I LOVE. Because of "New York", ATYCLB got 4 stars. I wish all of the album had the quality of "New York". "Grace" concludes ATYCLB with a calm and beautiful melody.

Compared to other U2 albums, ATYCLB is not much. But it's a good buy if you like U2 or like mild pop. I suggest you get other U2 albums before this one, though.

BOTTOM LINE: NOT THE BEST U2 ALBUM, ATYCLB IS STILL WORTH OWNING.
