I think most people who dislike this album are too connected with the 80s generation music and just don't want to let go of it. Takes a new generation to appreciate U2's new style (yeah I'm in my teens). Sure...I agree it's not the apotheosis of U2's albums. But, as someone mentioned in another review...listening to "It's a Beautiful Day" thousands of times just isn't enough.
