First, you must understand that U2 really isn't a greatest hits band since they have many albums that are great from start to stop (Boy, War, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby), so making a "Greatest Hits" collection becomes more difficult because you'll have people who want their favorite song on the album but it won't be there. But anyway, this is a pretty good intro to their 80's material (I should know, I bought this before I owned any of their 80's stuff). Most of the songs on here you really can't leave off (Tracks 1-9, and 11). My only complaint with this album is that they edited "New Year's Day" and "Where The Streets Have No Name" (the opening minute is essential to the song). But that's only a a minor complaint. The new track "The Sweetest Thing" is a pretty good track and version that was the B-side of "Where The Streets Have No Name" is definitely worth a listen (you can find it on the B-sides disc, which I don't own, but I borrowed). I do think that "Angel Of Harlem" and "All I Want Is You" could have been left off. But then there is the question of what could have been in their places. Most reviewers complain that there were no songs from "October" but they're wrong because if you let "All I Want Is You" run after it has ended, you'll find "October". I think "Gloria" or "Fire" could have been put on here, along with "Bullet The Blue Sky", but the collection is good as is. If you want proof of how good of an intro it was, after owning this for a few months, I purchased all of U2's albums from Boy to Rattle And Hum in the following months.
