Depends on how you look at it, really

I'm only 13 years old and got into music at the beginning of this year. I was at my local Borders' CD section and decided to try out a band where five CDs were on display. The band was U2, the CD was "War", and the song was "Sunday Bloody Sunday". I did not immediately become a fan, but I was intrigued and did some research. I'm sure you probably know the history and members of the band and trivia and stuff so I won't bore you.

Some time later I bought this CD. I saw it as a collection of 14 great songs. (15 actually, plus the hidden track). It was my first real start on the band. However it did make a slightly confusing listen due to the non-chronological sequencing...it was hard to see the evolution of the band over the 9 years. Plus this CD is only 65 minutes long. The Beatles recently released "1" compilation ran 80 minutes. Another two to three songs could have squeezed in, such as "Gloria", "Seconds", "40" or "Two Hears Beat As One", all glaringly missing (hell they could've saved a minute without sticking "October" as a hidden track). Still, this got me started on U2, and fellow newbies would do well to get this. Fans who have been following the band since the 80s, however, probably don't need this unless they're completists.
