old school U2 fans must have, new school must learn from it!

I was reading over some of the other reviews for this addition to the U2 portfolio. There seems to be a common focus in every review...old school fan-dome. For those who were negative or waivering in faith, I feel the need to interject: THIS ALBUM ONLY COVERS THE FIRST 10 YRS! That is evident by title alone. And of course, those of us who have followed the band since the pre-LIVE AID era should be heartily satisfied, bellies full up of all the tasty morsels of a by-gone era. Like every band with endurance, this group is ever-experimenting, ever evolving and the energy levels keep growing. I was just as headspun as the next with the release of POP...but after long hard listening, you must realize that every ounce of yesterday composes what you hear from them today. "Joshua" is an obvious staple for any true U2 fan, and we simply can't overlook the masterful workings that came from "R&H". Don't consider the movie or the hype on that one, let the music show you the way. Where else can you find such honest heartstring pulling ballads like "All I Want Is You"? I will forever cherish the first decade of brilliance from this band. My faith is unwaivering, to say the least, reenforced at best. I look forward to the next decade's flashback album and hope that the new school of U2 fans are as understanding and unyielding to the genius that is four Irish guys with nothing but "pride" and "desire", and "the sweetest thing" is that "i will follow" even "where the streets have no name" throught the good times and "bad"(my particular 5 star fave).
