U2: THE GREATEST.........EVER

yesterday I bought the U2 ' best of 1980 - 1990 ' (the single CD) . I was dissapointed................they cut the end of 'pride' off, as well as ' I still haven't found w I am looking for '. I have not listened to the entire album yet so there my be other songs that have been cut short. After looking through the cover to the CD and noticing the songs that were shortened, it made me feel that there wasn't much effort put into this release. There was no word of thanks from the band members, which was also a let down because you would expect it on quite possibly one of the greatest rock albums ever; but I suppose that U2 are also light years from where they were when they made these songs and now they probably don't have anything intelligent to say except " POP RULES" . But it would have been nice to see a thankyou to their loyal fans for all their support over the decade. Besides that, the album is truly 'the best of U2'. It offers most, not all, of U2's greatest works, and is a very worthwhile purchase. It would have been nice to see a coulpe more tracks included on the first album, but when isn't it. The most dissapointing thing is, after listening to this album, you will realise that they stuff they sing now is nowhere, and lacks the quality of music that is sinonomous with this album.
