How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (HTDAAB)

U2's Best CD since Achtung Baby, Joshua Tree, Boy

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
I've been listening to U2 since 1983's War. My personal impression is that the very best U2 LPs have a unique energy, sound, and confidence. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb delievers.

Personally, I feel that U2's best works have been: Boy, Joshua Tree, and Achtung Baby. Unforgettable Fire, Pop (not all U2 fans panned this LP, thank you!), and War would be the second tier, for me. HTDAAB definitely joins the top tier.

The tempo is quickened thanks probably to Steve Lillywhite's production, the guitar hooks are jamming, the bass lines are fantastic -- really very, very good bass lines--, Bono's lyrics are pretty good throughout, sometimes wrenchingly insightful.

My favorite tracks thusfar: Miracle Drug, Love And Peace Or Else (a great groove, bold, and loaded with attitude), City of Blinding Lights, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own.

Worth the purchase.
