this gutter guy right after me is a total oaf

despite the fact that the most transcendental song on the new U2--that would be "miracle drug"--uses (to a T) the same chord progression as "with or without you", this is a very very solid effort by a magical band. you have to listen to "how to" a mess of times before you get it--but that's the sitch with the most lasting, as it were, albums. how dare the nitpickers (like this unmitigated oaf right after me!) nitpick. so so so many other bands, songs, records sound "small" after you audition this disc: U2 aim high, dare things (and sentiments) others would never, and write and perform great art about the human condition. "vertigo" is not even close to being the best track here. this record is anthemic in a NOT instantly accessible way. ok: now for something more important: people with good taste need to support indie bands like these--ok?: Sun Kil Moon, The Black Watch, The Caseworker, The Sugarplastic. Bobalooey is over and out!
