Mediocre album from a great band

Review Score: (6/10)
This is a disappointing release from an all-time great band. Reviewers have said that the Edge shines on this CD and he does. These kudos are due not only to his wonderfully varied piano and guitar work but, unfortunately, because his playing so much better than Bono's writing on this album. The rhyming of every line is so juvenile and makes for predictable listening. Subpar songwriting can't be overcome by great playing. Glad they're still together (saw them waaaay back in the "War" days) but hope Bono has better songs in him still.
