U2 COULD RECORD THEMSELVES IN THE BATHROOM & ITD GO PLATINUM
Review Score:

(2/10)
U2 now sells albums based on their name alone - back in the 1980's, U2 had something to prove to everyone.. when the 80's were done, U2 was on top of the world.. & since that time, they've been riding on their own wave without much effort since (with the exception of some early 90's albums) -
It's sad to me that U2's ego has gotten so out of control - I thought U2 was suppose to be a band for the people? not anymore - they're a band for the corporations to love, & they've fallen so in love with themselves, especially Bono - that they aren't a band for the people anymore... they've elevated themselves (at least in their own minds) to the status of gods...
the problem with this way of thinking, is that they have nothing left to prove to themselves, & nothing to fight for anymore in their music - they don't feel there needs to be effort anymore put into their music, because everyone knows theyre the "biggest band in the world", & therefore anything they record will sell... which is B.S. in my opinion
The best thing you could do for U2 is boycott them... teach their ego a lesson & don't buy their next album, if you already bought this one... or, if you havent picked up this album, don't do it
Believe me, this is the best thing you can do to help U2...
U2 needs to quit worrying about doing Ipod commercials & splashing water on each other on the inside of magazines & not worry about being the biggest band in the world...
Because it's a fact.. if you're the biggest band in the world, you also have to be the safest & most non-offensive band in the world... is that cool? it doesnt sound cool to me, you know how much restrictions that'll put on you if you're a musician? Enough restrictions to the point where your music lacks substance & any REAL rock feeling
We don't know how lucky we are that Pearl Jam is still making music today, & stays true to being experimental, non-corporate, & far from safe...
Skip this album, & pick up...
the Cure 'Self titled', &
'Rearviewmirror' (greatest hits 91-03)' from Pearl Jam immeditately - & your desire for U2 will quickly fall after hearing these albums... at least until U2 gets their act together
