How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (HTDAAB)

U2: They've still got it!

U2 is the background music for many of my childhood memories. I was raised by parents who are big fans of music, particularly my dad. While many families have the television on frequently for background noise, my parents almost always had music playing. They were big U2 fans, and as I was growing up, U2 was often played in my house. I enjoyed it without being able to put a name on the band. However, when I was ten years old and in fifth grade in the year 2000, U2's second-latest CD, "All That You Can't Leave Behind", came out. I began listening to this CD a lot as soon as my parents purchased it, and grew to love it- which opened up my eyes to all of the U2 CDs that I had listened to for so many years without even knowing who they were. "All That You Can't Leave Behind" is filled with inspirational and positive songs, which greatly influenced me at that time in my life and continue to today, particularly "Walk On", which has helped me overcome obstacles and let go of many grudges over the last couple of years. I also thoroughly enjoyed "Best of 1990-2000", which was very helpful to me as well. So since I have become such a big fan of U2, I was psyched to hear that they were coming out with a brand new CD last November. My dad surprised me with the CD, "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bond", right when it was released and I listened to it over and over right away, the same way as I had done several years before with "All That You Can't Leave Behind". Over the last couple of months, the new CD has become one of my all-time favorite CDs. U2 never fails to amaze me- they can say such great things so simply! Personally, I think that the best songs on the CD are "A Man And A Woman", "Original Of The Species", and "Yahweh", but they are all awesome. I know what it can be like to love a band and be disappointed when their new music doesn't compare to their beloved old stuff, but in my opinion, "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" is just as good if not better than all of U2's other music. I like it a lot, and I have already shared the CD with a couple of good friends, who enjoy it as well. I would strongly recommend purchasing it today!
